Contrary to popular belief, it appears that Apple’s brand new Macbook made from one solid piece of aluminum is not as sealed as they want you to believe. In the name of science and research the boys at ifixit have taken a brand spank 17inch Apple Macbook Pro and dismantled the thing piece by piece.
This unfortunate model got stripped by the boys to reveal a surprise or two for all of us. The biggest of these surprises was that the built-in lithium re-chargeable battery that boast 1000 charges is in fact a doddle to replace. It requires the removal of just a handful of Philips screws which hold the cover in place and then a few security screws which are holding the battery itself.
In fact, its possible to remove and replace this battery without damaging the warranty warning label. Once you get this battery out you’ll find that it’s a weighty 570 grams which is more than 20 per cent of the laptops weight.
